Although Norman's experience is diverse, he has dedicated his years in the Arizona real estate market to serving a select group of residential home buyers and sellers who value experience, honesty, and integrity in their business dealings. 

REAL ESTATE EXPERIENCE

NORMAN GODWIN, REALTOR® - 1973 - Present. Presently Associate Broker with John Hall and Associates, Scottsdale, Arizona, (since August 1997). Having been affiliated with Henry S. Miller, Realtors®, Irving, Texas, marketed new homes for D. R. Horton, Custom Homes, Arlington, Texas, and was Associate Broker with Coldwell Banker, Richard Smith, Realtors®, College Station, Texas. Continually engaged in the real estate business as a self-employed broker, Norman Godwin Realty, since 1973. Norman has consistently maintaining sales volume in the multi-million dollar category. Concentrating in Residential Real Estate, Norman directs sales activities, including developing marketing strategies, writing advertising, negotiating listing agreements, conducting market analysis, performing telephone canvassing, showing properties to prospective buyers and tenants, negotiating sales and lease contracts, coordinating inspections, assisting buyers in obtaining financing, contracting for lender required repairs, overseeing transactions to closing and funding, and training and supervising others to do the above.


During these years, Norman organized and managed the sales business, investment syndications, and corporations. He performed financial analysis of projects, including cash flow, profit and loss, and various rates of return. Performed title runs, negotiated royalties, delay rentals, damages, and other terms of oil and gas leases. Analyzed investments and negotiated complex purchase, lease and management contracts. Made investment decisions for these ventures and performed the functions of land developer and general building contractor. In addition, Norman is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Luxury Home Division and is a Mentor to new agents in the John Hall & Associates Pro-Start Division.

MEDIA EXPERIENCE

COMMUNICATIONS CONSULTANT

All during Norman's career in real estate there have been a myriad of occasions when he was asked to call on his media experience to produce advertising campaigns and/or assist others with particular media challenges. Over the years Norm has produced numerous brochure, newspaper, magazine, radio, television, billboard, direct mail, web pages and all kinds of specialty advertisements. In recent times he has moved into the forefront as a real estate communications consultant. He has helped new agents as well as seasoned professionals increase their share of the market by producing specialized communications that fit their needs. Naturally these activities have expanded to the point that Norman Godwin Communications (AZetc.com) has taken flight of it's own.

TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY - Program Director and Instructor.
Educational Television Department (KAMU-TV). Started as Producer-Director. Was promoted to Program Director. Had large role in planning and constructing new educational broadcast facility; performed market research and needs assessments, completed Federal Communication Commission application and Department of Health, Education, and Welfare construction grant request. Was business manager for the television operation. Wrote, produced, directed, performed, edited, numerous videotaped instructional and general audience programs - from closed circuit English 104, to the widely syndicated, The Gene Stallings Show. Supervised the Traffic Director, camerapersons, artists, technical directors, duty directors, audio persons, font operators, special effects persons, floor persons and others. Scheduled and monitored the Public Broadcast Station and five-channel instructional television network at Texas A&M University. Wrote and edited the KAMU-TV Program Guide monthly. Taught Journalism 309, Broadcast Advertising. Designed and taught Journalism 425, Techniques of Motion Picture Production.

BRAZOS BROADCASTING (KBTX-TV) - Producer, Director, Cameraman. Worked in all phases of television production while attending Texas A&M University as an undergraduate. 

COMMUNITY SERVICE

  • McDowell Sonoran Land Trust - Preserve Steward, Outreach Committee Chairman. Volunteering to help preserve the unique nature of Scottsdale, Arizona. www.mslt.org

  • SCOTTSDALE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE - Member

  • BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION BOARD OF REALTORS® - Volunteer service. Became a board member, served on numerous committees, elected as a Director, Secretary-Treasurer, Vice President, and President. Monitored the operation of the board office, including budgeting and control of expenditures, supervising the Executive Officer, secretary, and the Multiple Listing Service Board. Acted as spokesperson to the public, wrote articles for local and statewide release and publication, lead Director’s meetings, and conducted general meetings of the 250-person membership.

  • BRUSHY WATER SUPPLY CORPORATION - Volunteer service. Was one of two organizers of this expanded public water supply system that today serves the western quarter of Brazos County, Texas. Solicited customers, coordinated plans with consulting engineers and the Farmer’s Home Administration. Elected President of the Board and each year until leaving the area. Conducted the board meetings and annual membership meetings. Budgeted and planned the operation of the system. Supervised the bookkeeper, maintenance manager, meter reader, and various independent contractors.
